Install PaperCut PrintDeploy (Windows)

Overview

This guide walks you through installing PaperCut PrintDeploy on your Windows computer. This tool automatically installs and manages your company printers.


Step 1: Open Microsoft Edge

  1. Click the Start Menu
  2. Search for Edge
  3. Open Microsoft Edge

Step 2: Navigate to the PrintDeploy Download Page

In the address bar, enter:

Press Enter

⚠️ Note: This link only works when you are connected to the company network (on-site or via VPN).


Step 3: Download the Installer

  • The download should start automatically
    OR
  • Click Download if prompted

Step 4: Open the Downloaded File

  1. In Edge, click the Downloads icon (top-right corner)
  2. Locate the file (typically named something like:
    pc-print-deploy-client[...].exe)
  3. Click the file to open it

Alternative:

  • Press Ctrl + J to open Downloads
  • Or open your Downloads folder and double-click the file

Step 5: Run the Installer

You may see Windows security prompts:

If prompted with “Do you want to allow this app to make changes?”

  • Click Yes

If you are prompted for Administrator credentials

🚨 Stop here

  • You will need IT assistance to proceed
  • Please submit a Help Desk ticket for installation

If you see “Windows protected your PC”

  1. Click More info
  2. Click Run anyway

Step 6: Installation Process

  • The installer will run automatically
  • No configuration is required
  • Printers will install in the background based on your location and permissions

⏱ Installation typically completes within 1–2 minutes


Step 7: Confirm Installation

  1. Open Settings → Bluetooth & devices → Printers & scanners
  2. Verify your company printers appear

What to Expect

  • Printers will be automatically deployed
  • Printers may update or change depending on your location
  • No manual printer installation should be needed going forward

Troubleshooting

No printers appear after installation

🚨 This typically means you are not assigned to the correct printer group

  • Please submit a Help Desk ticket and request to be added to the McGregor Group

Download doesn’t work

  • Ensure you are on the company network or VPN

Installer won’t run

  • Right-click → Run as administrator
  • If prompted for admin credentials, submit a Help Desk ticket
